When Rosie O’Donnell returns to TV with her new show, Rosie Live, next week, don’t expect the same drama you saw on “The View.”
“It’ll be an hour of fun,” she says. “To me, that is what’s needed now.”
She stated, “To me, there’s nothing fun about gonging someone. There’s nothing fun about the audition segments of American Idol. I don’t like to see people humiliated on television. This isn’t a show where we book someone who has an album to promote. We book friends who are fun and want to come play. You don’t usually get to see celebrities that way.”
She’s slated to open the show singing a duet with Liza Minnelli. Kathy Griffin and Jane Krakowski will do “prepared comedic segments.” Alec Baldwin, Gloria Estefan, Ne-Yo and Alanis Morisette will make appearances.
There will be a five-second delay, “There will be no cursing,” she says. “There will really be no need.”
