Roger Waters, Will.i.am and sitar player Anoushka Shankar (daughter of Ravi) have joined Bon Jovi on the lineup for Live Earth India on December 7th in Mumbai.
The show, expected to reach 500 million in 100 countries via TV, radio and Internet, will spotlight East-West musical collaborations as well as personal and policy solutions to the climate crisis.
“Since Kevin Wall and I first created Live Earth in 2007, the mission has remained the same, to ignite global awareness aimed at solving critical environmental issues like the climate crisis,” former Vice President Al Gore stated. “India has a long tradition of sustainability, it is the world’s largest democracy, and the country has tremendous potential to influence the world around it. In Mumbai on Dec. 7, the world will hear our call to action — that India should help lead the international community by committing to produce all of its new energy in the electricity sector from clean and renewable sources within the next 10 years.”
