Michael J. Fox talked to ET last week on the set of “Rescue Me” in New York City. He shared how after living with Parkinson’s Disease for almost 20 years, he remains optimistic and tells ET he is “pretty good all things considered.”
He stated, “If you’re never down you’ll never know how good it feels to be up. It’s a great ride and I wouldn’t change a thing. I love my life for whatever difficulties there are.”
Michael J. Fox is guest starring in four episodes of “Rescue Me” this spring as a wheelchair bound character, “The funny part is me playing a paralyzed guy because I am the opposite of paralyzed. It’s tricky just to even just to be still.” On his return to TV, Fox says, “(Dennis Leary) called me up and described (the character). He is really dark and misanthropic. He’s bitter and nasty. It’s really fun.”
Over the past year and a half, Michael says he has kept busy writing a book about optimism and hope, “It’s about the way that a certain level of acceptance that helps you get through life… Then I get to finish it off by playing this dark little nasty guy who is embittered by his disability. I could easily have been that guy, were things to happen differently in my life.”
