Lifetime has joined the growing list of companies that have filed suit over “Project Runway.” Lifetime filed a countersuit in a Manhattan federal court against the Weinstein Company, which produces “Project Runway”, Bravo which used to broadcast the show and NBC Universal which is Bravo’s parent company, seeking exclusive rights over that reality series. The new season should be ready to show in December on Lifetime.
The upcoming season is now up in the air, as NBC Universal has sued the Weinstein Company, stating that it has the right of first refusal on the show, and the Weinstein Company has sued Bravo, saying the cable channel tried to sabotage the value of the series.
