As some of our readers have pointed out, it is more difficult to print interesting content when one sticks to the facts, but perhaps our intentions run deeper than that. At some point the media decided to hold celebrities to a higher standard than you and me.
These people are actors, they are not politicians, teachers or religious leaders. They are not role models, they are gifted individuals who are able to touch our souls in ways we are incapable of. And, when they touch our souls they are baring their own. They leave themselves exposed to all the reviews and critiques, good and bad, day in and day out, for better or for worse.
So you tell me when the rules changed and it became acceptable to lie and damage celebrities reputations, or simply mock them when they are being human. Perhaps we forget that they are no longer on the stage. Perhaps we are at fault for not being able to separate the entertainer from the person behind the mask. At some point we have disposed of the fourth wall, and therefore removed the boundary between fiction and reality.
Maybe that’s what all this is about? Maybe it is simply time to say, “I’m mad as hell and I won’t take it anymore.”
Someone had to say it, right?

That’s why they get paid the big bucks - they have to deal with the attention. And they love it. The bad comes with the good sweetie.
