Rapper 50 Cent is steaming mad at fast food chain Taco Bell. The reason? 50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson accused Taco Bell of “diluting the value of his good name” in a lawsuit filed yesterday. The lawsuit also states that, “Without seeking or obtaining Jackson’s authorization, defendant Taco Bell made him the star and focus of its nationwide advertising campaign by using his name, persona and trademark to promote Taco Bell’s business and products”.
If you don’t remember the marketing campaign, Taco Bell publicly rather than personally offered to donate $10,000 dollars to the charity of his choice if 50 Cent would change his name. The options were 79 Cent, 89 Cent, and 99 Cent, to go along with their “79-89-99 Cent Why Pay More” marketing promotion.
Umm. The name 50 Cent actually sounds better to me knowing the other choices.
